Please read the "Important Information About the LexiTopics Resource" at the bottom of this page before accessing the individual LexiTopics reports.
And please note: This LexiTopics analysis project is a work in progress; as our work continues, and as new words enter the Spelling Bee lexicon, the taxonomy, word analysis, and presentation are subject to change. New topics will be added, and existing topics may be combined, divided, or re-named. And that means that links will change. Therefore, if you wish to share any LexiTopic report(s), we recommend that you link only to this page, https://www.lexiconnexxions.com/lexitopics/, as this page (and its URL) will remain stable as the project continues.

UPDATE! Important Information About the LexiTopics Resource
As of 2025-04-14, LexiConnexxions has completed topical analysis of the A-O portion of the Spelling Bee lexicon, which comprises 74% of the entire lexicon. As the analysis continues, the reports will be updated, and more topics will be added. Each of these reports is a work in progress and is subject to change; as the analysis continues, adjustments may be required across the entire taxonomy to accommodate new taxonomical terms, additional concepts, etc.
Each Lexitopics report opens with a statement like this:
"The LexiConnexxions analysis has identified 634 words that are used in 737 different ways related to Animals in the A-N portion of Spelling Bee lexicon, which comprises 72% of the entire lexicon."
This means that the list of words about Animals includes information for 634 unique Spelling Bee words, but that many of those words are used in more than one sense, and are therefore listed multiple times, one in each relevant subject category.
The first figure (here, 634) is the number of unique words related to Animals.
The second number (here, 737) indicates that because many of those words have more than one definition related to Animals, the total number of words in this category is 737.
For example, in the Animals category, the word FROG has two different meanings: First (and perhaps most familiar), a frog is "any of various largely aquatic leaping anuran amphibians (such as ranids) that have slender bodies with smooth moist skin and strong long hind legs with webbed feet." But a frog is also "the triangular elastic horny pad in the middle of the sole of the foot of a horse." Thus, the word FROG is included in two Animal categories: Amphibians and Mammals: Equine.
In the same way, any word may be included in more than one LexiTopics list. For example, the word FROG also appears in the LexiTopics lists for Attire, Fashion, and Style (an ornamental closure), Health, Medicine, and Anatomy (a sore throat), Household Goods and Furnishings ("a small holder … with perforations or spikes for holding flowers in place in a bowl or vase"), Music ("the nut of a violin bow") and Weapons and Warfare ("a loop attached to a belt to hold a weapon or tool").
Words marked with asterisks have been used in at least one Bee puzzle, then subsequently disallowed; they are retained here for historical interest.
M-W refers to Merriam-Webster (abridged); NOAD refers to the North American Oxford Dictionary; Collins refers to the Collins Online Dictionary. Please review the important note HERE about the use of dictionaries by the Spelling Bee editor.
